Training For an Ironman Swim
Dear Friend,
One thing that I’ve learned in business is that if you do what everyone else is doing, and you follow the crowd, you are destined to fail. I’m currently making some changes in my life and they are requiring me to completely go against my previous patterns of behavior. While some of what I do is completely risky and putting myself in a vulnerable position, in the past, I have sometimes done things in order to not stand out too much from the crowd.
This is a big mistake if you want success in any area of your life!
For example, in swimming, using a kickboard and pull buoy are what most people do, mostly because they see other people doing it and think it must do something good for them! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe there is NEVER a time for grabbing a board and kicking a few laps with your friends, but if your goal is swimming improvement, this is not going to be a very efficient way of accomplish that!
We all have heard that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Well, lack of progress in any area life is also often due to not breaking out of our fear of change or clinging to tradition for tradition’s sake!
It’s a great time to reevaluate where you are, and get out of any potential ruts you are in. Are you getting the results you want? If not, why not? Remember, you do not have to do anything in life. With this in mind, consider taking action that could lead to great reward. Most regrets come from not doing things rather than going for it.
Life is now, time to live it.

Have you implemented the drills, workouts, tips, or training plans from Tri Swim Coach, either from the products or this newsletter, and had a positive result? I want to hear from you!
I am currently putting together a new training site with a formula that will make swimming training for triathlon easier. I’m looking for testimonials from the Tri Swim Coach community. The top 3 testimonials will receive complimentary passes to the new site.
You can send me a written testimonial or create a quick 30-60 second video. Videos will be given priority. If you have overcome an issue (swimming or otherwise), improved your overall triathlon time, improved your swim time, experienced the joy of swimming, or anything else related, tell me about it!
You can send me an email, or for videos you can send it through Yousendit, to my email address: [email protected]
Entries are due by midnight, Sunday, January 24th, Pacific Standard Time.
I will be the final judge on the top 3, and if you enter you can’t sue me if you don’t win! (had to say that…)
Have a great week of training, and stay tuned for an exciting interview I have coming up on the Tri Swim Coach podcast!
Sincerely,
Kevin Koskella
